Who? (me)
What? (horrified)
Where? (minnesota)
When? (TODAY...yikes!)
Why? (because the GAPS diet is the best course of action for an autistic child)
What is GAPS?
Gut And something something...that's how little I know about what I'm supposed to do.
Carter is still asleep. I need to figure out what to feed him for breakfast!
All I know right now is:
No grains (he's already gluten free, but the move towards paleo freaks even ME out)
No sugar (except the rawest of honey)
No pasteurized juice (juicing machine out, but skip oranges, as citrus is not great for autistic tummies)
Only egg yolks (the whites aren't easily digested by those with gut problems)
No nitrates (leaves out most meat found in a "normal" grocery store)
Yikes! Which typical breakfast foods are left?
I'll let you know what I come up with.
Help me, dear God!
I want to do what's best for my kiddos!
PS - I don't even know if what I wrote up above is accurate....because it's all so NEW to me (sigh)
